Data Intellect

Data Intellect, formerly AquaQ Analytics, is a specialist data and technology consultancy founded in 2011. The firm builds high-performance systems for time series data in demanding financial environments, working with clients across capital markets, investment banking, hedge funds and trading. Its technical work spans kdb+ development, performance-based software engineering, data analytics, cloud architecture, trading systems and risk analytics. The company employs between 201 and 500 people.

The consultancy maintains offices in London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Toronto and Belfast, serving clients across Europe and North America. In Belfast it created over 120 jobs and invested £8.3 million in 2020, followed by a further 40 roles in 2021. Specialist training is offered alongside client delivery.

Data Intellect develops a number of proprietary accelerators alongside its consultancy work. TorQ is an open-source kdb+ framework; Feed Handler as-a-Service delivers feed handler functionality as a service; and DIVE (Data Intellect Validation Engine) is a validation engine. These are applied to bespoke trading systems and cloud architecture solutions, with an emphasis on measurable client impact.
