Coherent Aerospace & Defense, a division of Coherent (formerly II-VI Incorporated), designs, fabricates, integrates and tests advanced optical and photonic solutions for aerospace, defence and space applications. Its work spans space-based optical systems - telescopes and precision optical assemblies built for demanding military and aerospace environments - as well as high-precision imaging optical assemblies and optical windows and domes for defence and aerospace platforms.

The division is a vertically integrated provider, covering the full chain from optical design and engineering through integration, assembly and testing. Technical capabilities include photonics, optical design, infrared optics, thin film coatings, optical materials, diamond turning and precision imaging optics, with products spanning infrared optical components, diamond-turned components and coating services for optical elements.
