Chemence

Chemence is a specialty manufacturer of industrial adhesives and sealants, producing adhesives, sealants and UV-curing resins for global markets. The company was founded in 1983 in London by Hugh V. Cooke and has operated for more than 40 years. It describes its core expertise as liquids that polymerise.

The product range spans several curing chemistries: cyanoacrylate adhesives (superglues), anaerobic adhesives and sealants that cure in the absence of air, UV curing resins, light-curable liquid photopolymers and impregnation sealants. These are supplied to customers in the medical, consumer, industrial, graphics, cosmetics and VIS sectors.

Chemence runs what it describes as one of the largest adhesives manufacturing facilities in North America. Corporate, sales and manufacturing locations span five countries: a corporate office near Atlanta, Georgia and a North American plant in the United States; a corporate office in London, England; and sales offices and manufacturing in South Korea, China and Poland.

Technical work at Chemence draws on polymer chemistry and polymerizable chemistry, including formulation of adhesives and sealants and curing technologies covering UV curing, anaerobic and cyanoacrylate systems. The company states a commitment to quality and sustainability.
