CDW is a multi-brand provider of integrated information technology solutions, serving business, government, education and healthcare organisations across the United States. Founded in 1984 in Vernon Hills, Illinois, it began as a catalogue seller of IBM-compatible PCs under the names MPK Computing and Computer Discount Warehouse, and has since broadened into a full-service provider spanning cloud computing, security, digital workspace and infrastructure solutions, alongside IT hardware resale.

The company employs approximately 13,900 people, whom it refers to as coworkers, and serves thousands of organisations. It ranks No. 199 on the Fortune 500 and is a member of the S&P 500. It is led by chair and chief executive Christine Leahy.

CDW was started as a one-person operation with $3 and a used computer to sell, promoted initially through a three-line newspaper advertisement. It has grown organically since, with an emphasis on adapting its business to changing market needs over several decades and on helping customers maximise returns on technology investments.
