Catalyst Counseling

Catalyst Counseling, LLC is a mental health counseling practice founded in 2015 and co-owned by Lindsay Back and Christy Hughes. The firm describes its approach as holistic and strength-based, with an emphasis on care that is affordable and accessible. It works primarily with children and families across Greater Cincinnati, Dayton and southwest Ohio.

Its central innovation is a school-based model that places full-time therapists in school buildings, where they serve as members of the multidisciplinary school team. This embedded therapy is delivered in more than 20 school districts. Alongside school-based work, the practice offers office-based and telehealth therapy, psychiatric medication management, treatment for substance use disorders and case management.

The organisation employs more than 95 therapists and providers. It states that the health and wellness of its own providers is central to its mission, and that it advocates for equitable, affordable and accessible mental health services in the communities it serves.
