Bluesight
Bluesight provides a Medication Intelligence platform using RFID and analytics for hospital pharmacy tracking, inventory, diversion monitoring, purchasing, 340B compliance, and patient privacy.
Bluesight, founded in 2011, builds a Medication Intelligence platform for hospital pharmacy operations. Its software uses RFID technology and analytics to automate medication tracking and inventory management, monitor drug diversion, optimise purchasing, manage 340B compliance and drug shortages, and track patient privacy. The company serves over 3,000 hospitals across the United States, up from 16 hospital customers at its launch.
The platform comprises several named products. KitCheck, the founding product, is an RFID-based system that automates medication counting and tracking within hospital pharmacies. It is joined by ControlCheck for drug diversion monitoring, CostCheck for purchasing optimisation and pharmacy spend management, 340BCheck for 340B drug pricing programme compliance, ShortageCheck for drug shortage management, and PrivacyPro for patient privacy monitoring.
Bluesight has expanded its platform through in-house product development and two strategic acquisitions, Medacist and Protenus. Its stated focus is on removing manual counting and administrative work from pharmacists and technicians so that their time can be redirected to patient care, while reducing errors in medication workflows. The company positions itself as a long-term partner to health systems in the United States.
