Barnard is a heavy-civil construction company building dams, tunnels, pipelines and related infrastructure on projects throughout North America and worldwide.

Barnard is a heavy-civil construction company founded in 1975 and headquartered in Bozeman, Montana. It executes complex infrastructure projects throughout North America and worldwide, including dams, reservoirs, tunnels, penstocks and pipelines. The company ranks among Engineering News-Record's (ENR) Top 400 contractors in the United States.

Its work spans hydropower construction and repair, power transmission, tunneling, marine construction, water and sewer pipeline and reservoir construction, environmental construction, and the strengthening and integrity improvement of natural gas pipelines. Representative projects include raising a dam in Alaska, repairing a penstock in British Columbia, tunneling under downtown San Francisco and building a reservoir in Texas.

Barnard describes its founding ethos as "People building for People", with principles of investing in people first and empowering them to lead. The company states that it takes on the riskiest, most difficult and complex construction jobs, and that it looks for people who thrive on tough work and challenging opportunities.

The company began in 1975 with $1,000, two shovels and a pick; a $3,500 loan from Tim Barnard's grandmother financed the bond for its first project, worth $17,000.
