Apexa

Apexa is a Canadian insurtech company founded in 2017. Its core product, the APEXA Platform, is a web-based system that manages the contracting and compliance of independent Life Insurance Advisors in Canada. The platform serves three groups of users - Advisors, Managing General Agencies (MGAs) and Carriers - by providing a single, consolidated profile for each advisor shared across all contracted parties, intended as one source of truth for compliance and contracting data.

The platform was built in collaboration with nine leading MGAs and Carriers, with input from industry compliance professionals, service providers, Advisors and developers. Its technical work centres on web-based platform development, data consolidation, compliance management systems and the automation of contracting workflows. The company frames its approach around data accuracy, compliance assurance, efficiency and transparency.

Apexa's product was launched in 2017 and has since been adopted across MGAs and Carriers in Canada. In May 2022 the company was acquired by MIB Group. Its industry focus covers life insurance, insurance distribution through MGAs, carriers and independent financial advising.
