American Arbitration Association
Not-for-profit provider of arbitration, mediation and other dispute resolution services since 1926, supported by case management and online resolution technology including PRISM.
The American Arbitration Association (AAA) is a not-for-profit provider of alternative dispute resolution services, administering arbitration, mediation and related processes. Founded in 1926, the organisation works with parties seeking to resolve conflicts outside the courtroom, with an emphasis on impartiality, confidentiality and established procedural standards. Its casework spans commercial, employment, consumer, construction, technology, healthcare and international disputes, and it operates globally, including through the International Centre for Dispute Resolution.
Technology underpins much of that administration. The association develops and runs case management systems and online dispute resolution platforms to support the handling of disputes at scale. PRISM, its online case management system, covers case records, documents, scheduling, billing and communication between parties, arbitrators and the association's staff. Alongside casework, AAA Education delivers educational programmes, industry-specific resources and professional development for practitioners and in-house teams.
As a not-for-profit organisation, the association describes its purpose as fair and efficient conflict resolution, with an emphasis on accessibility and consistency in how cases are administered. Further information is available at adr.org.
