Job Summary
The Assistant Warehouse Manager supports the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring efficiency, safety, and organization in handling raw materials, components, and finished goods. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, coordinating shipments, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing raw materials and finished products.
- Supervise and train warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety and manufacturing guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits to prevent discrepancies, ensuring the availability of materials for production.
- Coordinate with suppliers, production teams, and logistics providers to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to the manufacturing industry.
- Optimize warehouse layout for efficiency and effective space utilization to support manufacturing workflows.
- Address and resolve any operational issues or delays that may impact production schedules.
- Generate reports on warehouse performance, stock levels, and workflow improvements tailored to manufacturing needs.
- Support the Warehouse Manager in budget planning and cost control specific to material handling and storage.
- Handle internal and external inquiries related to warehouse operations within the manufacturing sector.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations or logistics, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and best practices in manufacturing warehouse operations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
