Position Overview:
We’re seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join a high-performing project team in the Dulles, VA area. This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale mechanical projects including data centers, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, and other complex commercial builds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on experience with a highly respected mechanical contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing daily operations of mechanical construction projects
- Support the Project Manager in budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely project documentation
- Participate in subcontractor meetings, project status updates, and onsite coordination
- Assist in identifying and resolving project challenges related to logistics, design, and installation
- Coordinate closely with field teams, vendors, and engineering staff
- Monitor material delivery schedules and support change order documentation
Qualifications:
- 2–6 years of construction experience (mechanical, commercial, or civil background acceptable)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and construction management software preferred
- Interest in growing into a Project Manager role within a leading mechanical contractor
- Ability to work full-time in the Dulles, VA office and on nearby project sites
