JUNIOR ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ENGINEER, SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO

Our client in Puerto Rico is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join their organization. The ideal candidate will deliver impactful AI, Generative AI, and machine learning solutions that drive significant business outcomes. Specializing in machine learning and AI technologies, the AI Engineer will apply software engineering principles throughout the entire development lifecycle, including R&D, architecture, and implementation. As the technical programmer on the team, the candidate will play a key role in developing, integrating, and testing the solution stack, with a strong focus on problem-solving. The AI Engineer will contribute independently and also collaborate closely with Senior Engineers, Architects, and Designers to deliver high-quality results. Initial 90-day trial period required prior to hire (that can be done remotely). Relocation offered.
Key Responsibilities
Document Ingestion and Data Extraction Automation: Leveraging AI and machine learning techniques to automate the ingestion and extraction of data from various documents. This initiative emphasizes principles such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), contextual understanding, named entity recognition, and data normalization, enabling seamless data flow across systems and improving both data accuracy and processing speed
Voice Agents: Implementing AI-driven voice agents to interact with clients, automate responses, and enhance the user experience. These agents are built using speech recognition, dialog management systems, and deep learning algorithms, providing efficient, intelligent, and conversational interactions that improve customer service and client engagement
Robotic Process Automation (RPA): Automating repetitive, rule-based tasks across various business functions through RPA. This project incorporates workflow automation, decision-making algorithms, and AI-based process optimization to reduce manual workloads, enhance productivity, and streamline business operations
Other Responsibilities
- Designs and develops AI, machine learning, and data science applications for both internal and external use, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Contributes to the full AI solutions development life cycle, including gathering specifications, creating prototypes, development, quality assurance, code reviews, and deployment, ensuring seamless integration and performance
- Collaborates with team members to define and implement best practices, frameworks, and development models to ensure consistency and high-quality outcomes across projects.
- Investigates emerging technologies, machine learning models, and development methodologies to continuously enhance the team’s capabilities and innovate within the field
- Works closely with users and product owners to gather requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications and ensuring the solution meets user expectations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying AI and machine learning systems, applications, and solutions, with a proven track record of successfully delivering impactful solutions on time.
- Proficiency in software development languages and principles, with practical experience in coding and software design.
- In-depth knowledge of tools and technologies related to AI, Generative AI, machine learning, and data science, with a focus on industry-standard libraries and frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with development tools such as Python, JavaScript, machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), data manipulation packages, and RESTful services (e.g., Flask) and AI APIs for seamless integration.
- Strong understanding of client-server architectures, RESTful APIs, model service frameworks, and experience with test-driven development to ensure robust, reliable solutions.
- Experience evaluating public domain and open-source machine learning models, fine-tuning, calibrating, and retraining them to meet specific business needs.
- Proven ability to develop and evaluate custom machine learning models for various use cases, including prediction, classification, forecasting, and general-purpose modeling tailored to business objectives.

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday with flexibility based on business needs. 90-day trial period required prior to hire (that can be done remotely)
Salary: Starting at $110K (DOE). Stipend towards health care, relocation offered
