Position Summary: The Manager, Business Solutions, plays a critical role in driving strategic initiatives that enhance corporate partnership offerings. This individual will be responsible for co-leading and executing the strategy and creative development that will help drive current and new business revenue for local and global partnership deals.
This individual will work collaboratively with the Director of Business Solutions and the Corporate Partnerships sales team to achieve and execute the sales plan strategy. This role will serve as the project lead for prospects and collaborate with internal department stakeholders, including but not limited to global partnerships, marketing, community, basketball operations, and social/digital content groups.
This Manager is also responsible for the creation of Lakers partnerships platforms for prospective sponsors (new business) and current sponsors (upsells and renewals) through: research (identify industry leaders, best practices, emerging technologies), platform development (idea generation, concept curation and proposal construction), internal vetting (division approvals), creative presentations (in collaboration with design team to bring vision to life) and inventory management/ P&L creation (CRM).
Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities**):
- Co-lead sales process for new business and renewals/upsells
- Organize and participate in multi-functional “kick-off” and brainstorm meetings to develop fully integrated marketing platforms for new business prospects
- Proactively identify new assets and build turkey platforms that can generate revenue, while becoming familiar with designations and promotional rights
- Ensure concepts represent the standards and philosophy of the organization, are vetted by various department leads, and can be effectively activated
- Project management responsibilities include sales collateral creation and P&L’s for all new business and current renewal/upsell opportunities
- Monitor and manage partnership asset inventory in CRM, reporting revenue forecast projections to leadership
- Assist with analytic reports and data interpretation in relation to sponsor activations, brand exposure performance valuations, and fan data to be used in prospecting materials, sales presentations, and partner proposals

Education (required/ preferred): Bachelor’s Degree
Previous Experience
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in partnership strategy, business development, strategic planning, or partnership management, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry
Technology Capabilities: CRM (EngageRM preferred), Wrike, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Nielsen, Power BI, Winmo, SponsorUnited, Relo Metrics or similar valuation platforms
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Deep understanding and experience with cross-functional marketing platforms, and knowledge of industry trends and partnership best practices within professional sports - including digital, experiential, and in-venue integrations
- Proven ability to ideate, structure, and negotiate multifaceted partnerships through platform architecture – combining a visionary approach to brand storytelling to produce compelling, data-informed sales narratives
- Experience with comprehensive revenue forecasts (P&L ownership)
- Demonstrated aptitude in managing workflows and systems that enhance cross-departmental collaboration, eliminate inefficiencies, and uphold brand consistency across partnerships
- Leverages high emotional intelligence to navigate cross-functional stakeholder relationships, aligning internal priorities, sales objectives, and partner needs through communication, trust-building, and collaboration
- History of success managing consistent high-pressure timelines and performance targets, with a disciplined approach to meeting key deliverables
- Willingness and capacity to work irregular hours to support executional excellence and partner and/or prospective client satisfaction, including game nights and weekends
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and walk significant distances in the arena on game day
Location: El Segundo (offices M-F), downtown Los Angeles (Crypto.com for select Laker home games), and other off-site client meetings
Travel: Must be willing to travel 5%-10% of the time to league meetings and client meetings
Hours: Regular office hours M-F plus nights & weekends for games/client events
The pay range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and certifications. In addition to those factors, we consider the relative pay of our current employees in similar positions when making a final offer.
