Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Importation & Supply Chain Logistics Specialist to support our global inbound logistics and supply chain operations. This role will assist in managing international shipments, coordinating freight and customs processes, and ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of goods to support our dynamic CPG business. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in logistics, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate importation activities, including booking, routing, and tracking of international shipments.
- Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to support service quality and cost control.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classifications, and international trade laws.
- Prepare and review import documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, ISF filings, etc.).
- Track freight spend and delivery performance; support initiatives to improve cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with supply chain, merchandising, and warehouse teams to align inbound logistics with inventory needs.
- Help resolve issues related to shipment delays, customs holds, or documentation discrepancies.
- Maintain logistics SOPs and contribute to process improvement efforts.
- Support seasonal and promotional planning by helping ensure timely delivery of key product launches.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in importation, logistics, or international supply chain, preferably in the CPG industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, International Trade, or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with customs regulations, HTS codes, Incoterms, and international shipping practices.
- Experience working with freight forwarders and logistics vendors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP or Business Central is a plus.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and support process improvements.
