Position Overview
We’re seeking a hands‑on AI/ML Engineer to become the in‑house expert for applied machine learning while contributing to day‑to‑day engineering and office tech. In this role, you will design, deploy, and maintain models that power our loan‑origination platform and develop internal tools that keep our team productive.
Key Responsibilities
- Applied AI/ML: Build, train, and deploy models for credit‑risk scoring, document OCR/NLP, fraud detection, and forecasting.
- Data & MLOps: Create data pipelines, feature stores, and automated retraining/monitoring workflows.
- Integration: Expose models through REST/GraphQL APIs and embed them in our custom LOS.
- Tooling & Support: Develop internal scripts and lightweight web apps; assist with basic DevOps/IT tasks such as laptop setup, VPN, and cloud‑infrastructure tweaks.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on machine‑learning experience (Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, scikit‑learn).
- Proven track record deploying production models with Docker/Kubernetes or a managed service.
- Strong software‑engineering fundamentals: Git, testing, design patterns, RESTful APIs.
- Comfort with basic IT/DevOps (Linux administration, networking, device management).
- Proficiency with SQL and modern data warehouses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fintech, lending, or SBA domain experience.
- Experience with NLP transformer models or LLM fine‑tuning.
- Familiarity with TypeScript/React, infrastructure‑as‑code, or security best practices.
