Position Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and coordinating reverse logistics operations, ensuring the efficient return of reusable assets from retail partners to service centers. This position involves daily interaction with both internal stakeholders and external partners to support transportation management, customer service, inventory forecasting, and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Reverse Logistics Coordination:
- Ensure reusable assets are collected from retail salvage operations and routed efficiently to appropriate service centers.
- Monitor inventory levels across service centers to meet production goals and prevent excess changeovers or shutdowns.
- Forecast asset needs, update orders and shipments, and review performance reporting.
Customer Service & Relationship Management:
- Provide outstanding service and support to collection locations including closed-loop sites, salvage, food banks, asset recovery, and other customer locations.
- Proactively minimize trailer dwell times and driver detention fees through effective communication and issue resolution.
Transportation Management:
- Oversee daily transportation tasks including carrier selection, routing, and shipping documentation.
- Track and trace shipments using TMS systems and Control Tower platforms.
- Collaborate with salvage operations to optimize trailer cube, eliminate non-owned asset returns, and ensure secure shipments.
- Liaise with third-party logistics providers to manage lead times and validate transportation costs.
ERP & Inventory Accuracy:
- Partner with service center teams to verify shipment receipts in ERP systems.
- Resolve paperwork discrepancies with third-party logistics providers.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and business intelligence tools such as QlikView or Power BI.
- Experience with TMS and ERP systems.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage high volumes of email and customer inquiries professionally.
- Ability to build strong relationships with both customers and internal teams.
