Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Importation & Supply Chain Logistics Manager to lead our global inbound logistics and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for managing international shipments, optimizing freight and customs processes, and ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of goods to support our dynamic CPG business. The ideal candidate will bring deep logistics expertise, strong vendor management skills, and a passion for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all importation activities, including booking, routing, and tracking of international shipments.
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classifications, and international trade laws.
- Lead the preparation and accuracy of import documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, ISF filings, etc.).
- Monitor and analyze freight spend, landed costs, and delivery performance; identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with supply chain, merchandising, and warehouse teams to align inbound logistics with inventory and sales plans.
- Resolve escalated issues related to delays, customs holds, or documentation discrepancies.
- Maintain SOPs and ensure continuous improvement in logistics workflows and systems.
- Support seasonal and promotional planning by ensuring timely delivery of key product launches.
- Contribute to broader supply chain strategy, including demand planning, inventory optimization, and vendor performance tracking.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in importation, logistics, or international supply chain, preferably in the CPG industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, International Trade, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, HTS codes, Incoterms, and international shipping practices.
- Experience managing freight forwarders and negotiating logistics contracts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) is required.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive process improvements.
