Are you passionate about the intersection of data, beauty, and strategy? Join our dynamic Merchandise Planning team, where you’ll play a critical role in helping Glossier deliver the right product to the right place, at the right time. The Merchandise Planner will be responsible for driving sales and profitability through inventory discipline across our E-Commerce and Retail channels in a thoughtful and strategic manner. From partnering with cross-functional teams to managing risk, to surfacing insights that shape our weekly business reviews, your work will be foundational in ensuring our merchandising engine runs with clarity and precision. Six Month Expectations
- Learn the ins and outs of our planning systems and reporting tools (NetSuite, Looker, Excel-based trackers) and gain fluency in our product data and reporting structure
- Manage the weekly Risk Report informing the e-Commerce team of upcoming inventory shortages in the warehouse
- Create weekly and monthly business review slides, providing sharp, actionable commentary on performance trends
- Participate in weekly and monthly planning meetings with confidence, contributing insights and raising potential risk or transfer opportunities
- Collaborate with Supply Planning to flag risks and align on SKU level decisions across sales channels
- Support Sephora US weekly buys, evaluating SKU-level risk and contributing to channel specific merchandising decisions
- Support Retail allocations for all 12 Stores, managing inventory on a daily/weekly basis, updating the US and UK inventory models, approve orders in Netsuite, and communicate with the warehouse
- Start to finish ownership of 1-2 product categories, with room to grow based on performance
Twelve+ Month Expectations
- Lead long-range planning initiatives, including Open-to-Buy (OTB) recommendations for both new and evergreen products
- Drive strategic planning for packaging transitions and discontinuations, minimizing liability and optimizing sell-through
- Build trust within the organization and deepen your strategic influence across teams, contributing to process improvements and long-term planning innovation
- Full ownership of 2-3 product categories, including forecasts, replenishment, inventory/risk management, and sample planning
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or a similar analytical role
- Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with NetSuite, Looker, or similar ERP systems is a plus
- Detail oriented with a high level of organization and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Collaborative and communicative with cross-functional teams including Finance, E-Commerce, Retail, Supply Chain, and Marketing
- Comfortable synthesizing data into insights and translating them into action-oriented recommendations
- A passion for beauty and an interest in how product, consumer behavior, and operations intersect
In Accordance With The Applicable Law, The Following Represents a Good Faith Estimate Of The Minimum And Maximum Compensation Range For This Position
- The estimated annual pay range for this role is $63,000 - $82,000.
- There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role.
- Full-time positions are also eligible for a competitive compensation and benefits package that include medical health insurance, 401K, equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units, Paid Time Off, Short Term and Long Term Disability leave, and a range of other benefits.
