We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Drayage Operation Manager (or Supervisor) to join our team. The Operation Manager is responsible for day to day Transportation operations, which include maintaining driver relations and all customer service functions needed to ensure customer satisfaction. The operational functions include revenue generation, safety, equipment maintenance monitoring, and others.. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, possess excellent math and budgeting skills, and have a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Role Description
This is a full-time Transportation Operations Manager role located on-site in Duluth, Georgia. The Transportation Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day transportation operations, managing logistics, ensuring customer service satisfaction, and optimizing supply chain management.
Responsibilities and Essentiail Functions
- Lead and mentor the operational staff to ensure every team member has a detailed understanding of the trucking operation, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities throughout the organization.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency, productivity, and profitability across all aspects of the business.
- Optimize driver loads based on origin, destination, type of freight, number of miles, stops, directions, etc. with driver needs and availability.
- Oversee daily operations, including safety, equipment management, dispatch, scheduling, and route planning, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of loads.
- Identify, recommend and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and equipment.
- Achieve organizational goals related to safety, quality, and timely delivery of products or service.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance.
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Operation Officer.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders to communicate operational performance, challenges and opportunities.
- Travel to other locations to ensure business/process continuity across the organization(25%).
- Strong organizational skills, proven management ability, and skill in operating a computer and other TMS required
