Position Overview:
The
Part-Time Senior Scheduler will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining project schedules. This role requires close coordination with project managers, engineers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met and that schedule risks are mitigated. The ideal candidate is highly proficient with scheduling software
(Primavera P6), detail-oriented, and capable of influencing project execution with data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project schedules from preconstruction through close-out phases using Primavera P6
- Maintain and update baseline and progress schedules, integrating subcontractor and vendor schedules as needed
- Perform schedule analysis including critical path, resource loading, and “what-if” scenarios
- Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and stakeholders to align work plans and sequencing
- Monitor actual progress and update the schedule to reflect changes, delays, or accelerations
- Produce weekly and monthly schedule reports, dashboards, and forecasts
- Participate in project meetings and provide scheduling input for planning and recovery efforts
- Identify and communicate schedule risks and opportunities proactively
- Support claims analysis and time impact studies as required
- Ensure compliance with contract scheduling requirements
Qualifications:
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
Experience
- Minimum 7+ years of construction scheduling experience, with at least 3 years on large-scale ($50M+) projects
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (required), MS Project or similar a plus
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and resource planning
- Experience working in CM/GC, Design-Build, or agency CM environments
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; ability to work cross-functionally and under pressure
Skills
- Knowledge of public agency scheduling requirements (e.g., NYS DOT, MTA, DDC, HHC, or similar)
- Familiarity CPM methodologies, and Lean scheduling techniques
- Certification in Planning & Scheduling (PSP from AACEI or PMI-SP)
Pay Rate: $85-$95/Hourly Salary. Actual compensation will depend on the individual’s qualifications, education, skills, and experience.
