Are you passionate about creating compelling fashion narratives through visual design? Shopbop is seeking an Art Director to contribute to the creative vision and execution of our multi-media fashion marketing content. In this role, you'll work on all channels alongside a diverse team of art directors, designers, editorial writers and stylists. You'll also collaborate with business stakeholders to translate data-driven insights into innovative visual and experiential solutions. We're seeking a seasoned creative who can pioneer new approaches to fashion storytelling through the e-commerce user experience lens. This person is motivated to take calculated risks, all while balancing aesthetic excellence with measurable business results.

The ideal candidate will have experience in fashion-focused art direction, a proven track record of leading successful, high-impact visual campaigns that reflect an overarching brand vision. This person is meticulous about typography, layout, and visual composition, and has a strong portfolio demonstrating brand development and creative problem-solving. Experience working with global fashion brands, proficiency in creative software including Adobe Creative Suite, background in digital and print campaign development, UX-centered decision-making, and a strong understanding of e-commerce and consumer behavior are all preferred qualifications.

Key job responsibilities

Deliver impactful visuals focused on fashion storytelling through innovative franchises and trend features.
Own and maintain an omni-channel visual playbook tailored to each platform's unique audience to maximize customer experience, engagement and business results.
Optimize content processes, with a focus on integrating photoshoot art direction and digital visual design direction for improved efficiency and alignment.
Contribute seasonal visual ideas and solutions that evoke mood and sophistication aligned with brand and industry trends.
Deliver compelling creative reviews and presentations, using data-driven insights to influence business and creative decisions.
Demonstrate bias for action in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects under tight deadlines without compromising quality.
Insist on the highest standards while balancing creative excellence with budget constraints and business objectives.
Drive excellence in video and content creation by providing clear direction, actionable feedback, and maintaining the highest standards for output.
Think big on new business initiatives, contributing expertise in content strategy and innovation to drive long-term growth.

Basic Qualifications

Have an available online portfolio
Bachelors Degree
5+ years in relative field with retail experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
Expertise in web and e-commerce design
Strong design sensibility and creative problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts degree, or Bachelor of Fine Arts degree
Ability to execute entire design projects from project brief through creative execution and delivery
Ability to work effectively with high levels of autonomy and ambiguity
Experience fostering strong cross-functional relationships with marketing, creative, editorial, and tech partners to drive creative innovation
Experience presenting creative effectively to senior executives
Sample work that shows a highly refined design sensibility applicable to fashion
Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
