Description
We are looking for a UX Designer that enjoys inventing and simplifying for our customers throughout their online Fashion shopping journey. As a UX Designer at Shopbop, you will act as a customer advocate by surfacing the customer perspective through user research and usability studies, and presenting insights to leadership to influence decisions and prioritization.
The ideal candidate is a mobile first design thinker who creates cohesive responsive design across various devices (desktop, tablet, mobile, etc). You have a strong visual design background with passion for online shopping experience design, especially apparel/fashion. You pursue opportunities to create beautiful and easy-to-use patterns that customers recognize, while raising the bar on design and front-end solutions. You are a self-starter with strong organizational skills, web expertise, intrinsic design ability, attention to detail, and knowledge of standard web and mobile components and patterns.
Key job responsibilities
- Take broad, conceptual ideas and translate them into digital experiences
- Create design flows that are not only user-centric but also a fit for product strategy
- Lead design activities to solve problems like problem definition, journey mapping, co-design sessions, planning and scoping design work, and contribute to user testing
- Collaboratively work with product managers, engineers, researchers and other cross-functional partners to propose, test, and evaluate ideas that continuously build the relevance of the Shopbop experience
- Oversee the user experience from conception through launch and continual improvement
- Present design work and regularly engage with partners for feedback
- Lead multiple projects independently and deliver high-quality work on time
- Partner with other designers to ensure consistency and excellence of designs
- Contribute to and maintain the Shopbop Design System Pattern Library.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of design experience
- 3+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience prototyping (HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flash or Flash Catalyst, or Axure)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of mass-market consumer web / mobile products experience
- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
