Greenzie

Greenzie retrofits commercial mowers and industrial equipment with self-driving autonomy software, developed from its Atlanta headquarters since 2018.

Greenzie is a software company founded in 2018 and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, that develops fully autonomous commercial lawnmowers and industrial equipment. Rather than building machines from scratch, the company retrofits existing commercial mowers with self-driving technology, adding autonomous capability to equipment landscape contractors and commercial operators already use.

Its flagship product, Greenzie Powered Autonomy, turns conventional commercial mowing equipment into autonomous robotic workers using off-the-shelf sensors and production-grade autonomy software. The platform includes functional safety systems designed to comply with ANSI/RIA R15.08-1-2020 safety requirements for industrial robots, reflecting a focus on operating safely alongside human crews. Technical work spans autonomous vehicles, robotics, sensor integration and functional safety.

Greenzie partners with four commercial mower manufacturers - Wright Manufacturing, Bobcat, Scag Power Equipment and Mean Green Mowers - to bring its autonomy software to market. The company also runs Greenzie University, a support and training resource offering tutorials, how-to guides and troubleshooting material for equipment operators. Its work targets labour shortages and difficult outdoor labour in commercial landscaping, industrial equipment and outdoor services, with an emphasis on productivity and consistency for landscape contractors.
