ENERGY POOL is an independent provider of energy flexibility management, founded in 2009 and an early entrant to the French flexibility market. The company connects, aggregates and optimises distributed energy assets - industrial loads, renewable generation, storage systems and hybrid power plants - delivering real-time grid balancing and ancillary services. Its energy flexibility management platform accounts for 8 GW of managed flexibility, a figure the firm equates to the output of eight nuclear reactors.

The product portfolio extends to demand response programmes, which allow utilities to run such schemes and enable end-users to monetise flexibility, and microgrid solutions offered to utilities. Technical work spans demand response, distributed energy resource management, grid balancing and ancillary services, energy optimisation and microgrids. The firm reports that its activities avoid some 2 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions a year, and cites more than 15 years of operating experience.
