Summary
Sunwest Bank is looking for an AI/ML Engineer to build intelligent applications and workflows that turn data into automation and insights. This role focuses on using financial, customer, and CRM data (like Salesforce) stored in OneLake to streamline repetitive tasks in sales and operations. Projects may include document processing, predictive analytics for customer outreach, and AI assistants to improve internal processes.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop AI-powered applications and workflows that automate tasks and generate insights from Sunwest Bank’s data
- Use financial, customer, and CRM data (e.g., Salesforce) stored in OneLake to build automation solutions for sales and operations
- Lead projects such as intelligent document processing, predictive analytics, and AI assistants for internal process improvement
- Collaborate with data engineers and business teams to identify use cases and translate them into AI solutions
- Design, train, and implement machine learning models or AI services to meet business needs
- Support deployment of AI models into production workflows, ensuring scalability and reliability

Required QUALIFICATIONS
- Programming: Strong Python skills (or similar), with experience in ML libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Data Handling: Able to work with structured data (SQL, data frames) and unstructured data (text, images), including preprocessing
- Machine Learning: Solid understanding of ML techniques—regression, classification, clustering, NLP—and their practical applications
- Modeling: Experience building and evaluating models on tabular and text data
- Data Integration: Familiar with platforms like OneLake or Azure; skilled in querying and linking models to large datasets
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to translate business needs into AI solutions, selecting appropriate approaches like chatbots, classifiers, or recommendation systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in financial services or familiarity with sales/CRM workflows
- Cloud AI Tools: Skilled in Microsoft Azure AI services (e.g., Azure ML, Cognitive Services for vision/NLP)
- Data Science Expertise: For senior candidates, strong background in statistical modeling, experiment design, and interpreting results
- AI Deployment: Experience with MLOps practices and deploying AI models into production workflows or applications
- Education: MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field preferred; relevant coursework or certifications beneficial for junior candidates
