This role is critical to ensuring the right product is available in the right place at the right time. The ideal candidate is data-driven, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment.
As a core partner to the Merchandising, Buying, Finance, and Sales teams, you’ll own the development and execution of seasonal merchandise plans (tops-down and bottoms-up), inventory strategies, and in-season forecasts. You’ll translate high-level brand and category strategies into actionable plans that drive revenue, margin, and growth.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end merchandise planning across DTC and wholesale, including pre-season planning, in-season forecasting, and post-season analysis.
- Develop and manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans; recommend shifts in purchasing or flow strategies based on performance and trends.
- Build and reconcile top-down and bottom-up financial plans including sales, margin, inventory, and markdown projections.
- Allocate inventory strategically across sales channels (e.g., e-commerce, retail, pop-ups, wholesale/off-price) to maximize sell-through and margin.
- Partner with Buying and Merchandising to align financial goals with product and category strategies.
- Monitor inventory KPIs such as revenue, profitability, turn, and sell-through; identify risks and opportunities to improve performance.
- Provide and present clear, data-driven insights, and recommendations to cross-functional teams to inform purchasing decisions and support sales and margin goals.
- Support seasonal buys and reorder strategies; optimize inventory flow based on channel needs and production timelines.
- Contribute to post-season hindsight reporting to guide future assortment planning and investment strategies.
Qualifications
- 4-6 years of planning experience, ideally in women’s contemporary or luxury fashion.
- Analytical mindset with a strong command of retail math, planning concepts, and forecasting methodologies.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP or planning systems (e.g., NetSuite, JOOR) preferred.
- Experience at DTC brands or omnichannel environments is highly preferred.
- Proven track record in developing actionable strategies based on data and performance insights.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable to shifting priorities in a high-growth setting.
- Strong communicator and collaborator with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
