Summary
We are seeking an experienced ECommerce Merchandising Manager with a background in home and textile products and a proven track record managing luxury brand websites. The role will work closely with the VP of eCommerce on the site merchandising strategy and with close collaboration with DTC and product Merchandising and Planning teams. This role will oversee the end-to-end merchandising execution for our online store, ensuring our brand vision and product storytelling are consistently brought to life on our digital platform.
The ideal candidate will combine a sharp eye for merchandising with strong technical skills in content management systems (preferably spree commerce), a data-driven mindset, and exceptional organizational abilities to manage calendars, site refreshes, and product uploads.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the digital merchandising strategy for matouk.com, ensuring a premium customer experience aligned with our brand positioning
- Manage and maintain the content management system (CMS), overseeing product uploads, category creation, catalog management, and landing page creation and updates
- Plan and maintain the merchandising calendar, including seasonal refreshes, product launches, and holiday campaigns, and homepage and navigation refreshes based on our seasonal launches
- Implement site personalization strategies (e.g cross sell and up sell) to drive engagement, conversion, and customer loyalty
- Ensure that key metadata elements (including product attributes, tags, titles, alt text, keywords, filters, and categorization) are consistently optimized to support product discoverability, site search, SEO, and a seamless user experience
- Perform regular site audits to ensure optimal product presentation, navigational flow, and content accuracy
- Manage the annual archiving process for discontinued SKUs, ensuring proper removal or repositioning to maintain a clear, relevant shopping experience
- Collaborate with marketing, creative, and merchandising teams to ensure cohesive storytelling alignment across the site
- Coordinate with creative on assets and photography, marketing on copy, and ERP and IT teams on product metadata and pricing accuracy to ensure error-free site updates
- Lead action on customer insights captured through our customer care channels (Email/chat or phone) analyzing disposition codes on a regular basis to inform roadmap and priorities
- Analyze product performance using Google Analytics and other tools like Power BI, or heatmap (hotjar) delivering actionable insights to optimize site merchandising, category layouts, and featured product placements
- Track and report on merchandising KPIs, add to carts, conversion rates, on site search and landing page performance
- Share actionable weekly and monthly reporting of results, observations, and recommendations that will improve the business.
- Stay current on e-commerce trends, competitor activity, and best practices to continuously elevate the site experience with a refined sense of luxury
Qualifications
- 6+ years of e-commerce merchandising experience, preferably with home and textiles or luxury lifestyle brands
- Deep experience managing premium or luxury brand websites
- Hands-on expertise with content management systems (current platform is spree commerce and others like Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or similar)
- Strong skills in Google Analytics and site personalization platforms
- Working knowledge of metadata and taxonomy best practices to drive product discoverability and conversion
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, able to manage calendars, deadlines, and cross-functional deliverables
- Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, including UX, conversion optimization, and customer journey mapping
- Collaborative team player with strong communication skills
- Strong skills in project management tools such as Trello to organize tasks, track progress, and manage deadlines across cross-functional initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in merchandising, marketing, business, or a related field preferred
