Piper Maddox has partnered with a well-established solar EPC based in the Northeast, boasting over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality solar projects across the region. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team.
This company specializes in distributed generation solar projects ranging from 250 kW to 5 MW, including ground-mounts, rooftops, brownfields, and solar carports. With a strong backlog of work in New York State, they are looking for a full-time Project Manager to oversee solar construction projects from pre-construction through commissioning. This is a remote role with regular travel to sites across New York State. The successful candidate will report directly to senior leadership and play a key role in project delivery across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and milestones from Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Commercial Operation Date (COD)
- Oversee subcontractors, permitting, procurement, and interconnection timelines
- Lead coordination between engineering, construction, and procurement teams
- Conduct regular site visits and engage with field crews, superintendents, and stakeholders
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project owners and internal teams
- Track change orders, manage documentation, and maintain QA/QC standards
- Proactively resolve on-site issues while ensuring high levels of safety and professionalism
What We’re Looking For:
- 5–10 years of solar project management experience (preferred in DG, commercial, or C&I scale projects)
- Proven ability to manage construction teams, subcontractors, and multiple concurrent project sites
- Strong understanding of EPC workflows, permitting processes, and field execution
- Experience with utility coordination and resolving site-specific challenges
- Willingness to travel regionally for site visits (company vehicle and mileage reimbursed)
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, and Procore
- OSHA 30 required; NABCEP, PMP, or other construction credentials a plus
