Position Summary:
We are looking for a personable
HR Manager to oversee multiple aspects of human resources practices and processes. What is an
HR Manager? To us, an
HR Manager is the go-to person for all employee-related issues. This means that your HR Manager duties will involve managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development and talent management.
Position Details:
- Location: Northbrook, IL
- Schedule: Full-time
- Compensation: annual salary starts at $80,000 depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries from staff and management, providing timely guidance and support
- Administer and maintain employee records, RIS data, and personnel files in accordance with legal and organizational requirements
- Support employee relations by addressing daily concerns, investigating complaints, and facilitating resolution of workplace issues
- Facilitate benefits enrollment, respond to employee benefit questions, and liaise with benefits broker as needed
- Process and track leaves of absence (FMLA, PFL, DBL, etc.), accommodations, and workers' compensation claims
- Monitor timekeeping systems, ensure payroll data accuracy, and assist with resolving payroll discrepancies
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and healthcare-specific employment laws, preparing documentation and audits as necessary
- Prepare routine HR reports and metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover, leave tracking) for leadership review
- Support department leaders with documentation, policy interpretation, and performance documentation
- Ensure HR bulletin boards, intranet postings, and communications are accurate and up to date
- Perform other related duties and administrative tasks to support the HR function as needed
Requirements
- Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive
- Multi-site Healthcare experience required
- Experience managing full-cycle recruitment
- People oriented and results driven
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
- Degree in Human Resources or related field
