Our client, located in San Francisco's SoMa district, is a well-funded Series B startup with around 25 employees and rapidly growing. They are an AI-first social media management platform helping brands turn followers into loyal, paying customers. Recently securing an additional $8M in funding, they are accelerating growth and product innovation and expanding into advanced image and video generation capabilities.
They have an opening for a Software Engineer with AI/Machine Learning experience to help drive development of their next-generation generative AI features.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain pipelines to collect and process multimodal social media data at scale.
- Develop generative and vision models optimized for engagement and brand impact.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver AI features that analyze sentiment, objects, and audio signals.
- Automate data cleaning, enrichment, and validation to ensure dataset quality.
- Surface KPIs and trends using statistical analysis, dashboards, and SocialGPT insights.
- Implement semantic search (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone) and RAG systems for media generation.
- Drive experimentation with new generative AI architectures and help shape the AI roadmap.
- Lead data and ML projects from concept to production in a fast-paced startup setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science
- 4+ years of relevant experience delivering production-level AI or Machine Learning solutions
- Experience in data science or ML engineering, ideally involving large unstructured datasets.
- Strong in Python, especially with Pandas and NumPy, or strong in another language but willing to learn/work in Python.
- Good grasp of statistics—hypothesis testing, regression, time series analysis, and experiment design.
- Experience building data pipelines with tools like Airflow or Prefect.
Pluses (Good to Have, but Not Critical):
- Familiarity with semantic search (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone) and RAG pipelines.
- Experience with multimodal models (text, image, audio) using frameworks like Hugging Face or OpenAI.
- Exposure to social media APIs.
- Experience with cloud platforms like BigQuery, GCS, or Snowflake.
- Experience with backend
