About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced and driven Logistics Manager to oversee all aspects of our outbound logistics operations. This role is critical to ensuring that domestic and international shipments are processed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with company goals. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and skilled at leading logistics teams while managing carrier relationships, compliance, and performance metrics - all while leveraging SAP within ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Logistics Planning: Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with business goals, focusing on operational efficiency, cost control, and service level optimization.
- International & Domestic Transportation Management: Oversee transportation and distribution for inbound and outbound shipments, including carrier selection, route management, timely deliveries, customs clearance, HTS codes, and tariff rates compliance.
- Carrier & Vendor Management: Build and manage relationships with domestic and international shipping providers, freight forwarders, and 3PL partners. Negotiate contracts, manage performance, and ensure service level adherence.
- Process Improvement & Optimization: Analyze logistics data and metrics to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities. Lead system, process, and tool enhancements.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the logistics team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure logistics operations comply with all laws, regulations, and industry standards. Develop risk mitigation strategies for potential supply chain disruptions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, sales, customer service, and production to ensure seamless logistics support for business operations.
- Reporting & KPI Analysis: Track, analyze, and report on logistics performance metrics, providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
- Strong SAP proficiency, with expertise in outbound logistics processes.
- Proven experience booking containers and managing freight from ports.
- Experience working directly with overseas brokerages and switch bills.
- Familiarity with the Pangea logistics platform preferred.
- Extensive experience managing logistics operations involving China.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact confidently with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Solid interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach and customer service orientation.
- Financial acumen with experience managing logistics budgets and cost control initiatives.
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and logistical challenges.
