Description
The Director of Warehouse Operations manages end-to-end warehouse operations, including internal teams and third-party logistics (3PL) partners, to ensure consistent performance, cost efficiency, and alignment with service level expectations. Reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing, this role plays a critical part in ensuring that KONGs warehouses function with efficiency, ensures product quality, on-time delivery and are strategically positioned for future growth and innovation.

This role requires up to 50–60% travel to oversee multi-site operations, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure standardization and compliance across all facilities.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Build and sustain a strong workforce by recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training employees while ensuring a safe, compliant work environment that promotes continuous learning and professional growth.
- Develop high-performing teams across multi-site warehouse operations by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and providing coaching, feedback, and corrective actions as needed.
- Drive safety, quality, and efficiency standard across all warehouse locations.
- Manages end-to-end warehouse operations, including internal teams and third-party logistics (3PL) partners, to ensure consistent performance, cost efficiency, and alignment with service level expectations.
- Develop and implement standardized best practices for warehouse layout, storage, packaging and inventory systems.
- Develop standardized, internal processes and/or procedures for warehouse initiatives and programs.
- Ensure product quality standards and exceptional customer service are met by identifying, analyzing trends and resolving quality and customer service issues.
- Ensure set KPI’s and goals are met at each location to ensure excellence in operations.
- Collaborate with the VP of Manufacturing to review and evaluate projects involving key functional changes within warehouse operations.
- Regularly communicate objectives, needs, challenges, project status and strategies to VP of Manufacturing.
- Manages relationship and oversight of third-party logistics (3PL) partners to execute Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) fulfillment, ensuring seamless coordination, accurate pick/pack shipping, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Leads successful transitions and implementations of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ensuring minimal disruption, data integrity, and alignment with operational workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience, leading, motivating, and coaching multi-site warehouse locations
- 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience managing Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and Business-to-Business (B2B) fulfillment operations
- Strong background in pick/pack shipping, inventory control, and order fulfillment
- Demonstrated success managing 3PL partnerships, including, service level monitoring, and integration with internal operations
- Hands-on experience leading WMS transitions, including selection, implementation, and optimization
- Knowledge of lean warehousing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and warehouse automation tools
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience managing diverse, distributed teams
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally across departments such as Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, and IT
- Experience driving a safety-first culture and maintaining compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards
- Willingness and ability to travel 50–60% to oversee multi-site operations
- Strong financial acumen and ability to manage KPIs, and cost-efficiency strategies
- Adaptability in fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (Team lift if necessary)
