Receiving Manager

Overview:
The Receiving Manager oversees all inbound shipping and receiving operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company procedures. This role is responsible for managing receiving staff, coordinating with purchasing and inventory teams, and maintaining proper documentation of incoming goods. The Receiving Manager plays a key role in ensuring smooth supply chain operations and timely processing of materials.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all daily receiving functions including unloading, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments.
- Supervise and schedule receiving team members to meet departmental KPIs.
- Ensure all received inventory is accurately recorded and processed in the ERP system in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with purchasing, inventory control, and production teams to ensure materials are delivered as required.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies with damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments.
- Enforce proper use of equipment and safety protocols during unloading and stocking activities.
- Maintain receiving logs, delivery paperwork, and supplier records.
- Train, coach, and evaluate receiving personnel to support continuous improvement.
- Work with carriers and vendors to schedule and track inbound deliveries.
- Ensure the receiving area is clean, organized, and operating efficiently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of receiving procedures, supply chain practices, and warehouse safety.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is preferred.
- Proficient in ERP systems for inventory and receiving functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanners.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active warehouse environment.
