Wings for Kids is more than just an after-school program—it’s a place where kids learn how to make smart choices, build healthy relationships, and understand their emotions. We bring social-emotional learning (SEL) to life through fun, engaging activities that help students grow both in and out of the classroom. Our goal? To give every child the tools they need to succeed, thrive, and feel at home in a safe, supportive environment. As a WINGS Leader, you’ll help kids grow into their best selves. WINGS Leader – Job Summary

Are you passionate about making a difference in kids’ lives and having fun while doing it? We're looking for energetic, reliable team players to join us as WINGS Leaders! In this role, you'll work directly with elementary students in under-resourced communities, helping them build social and emotional skills through games, activities, and everyday connections.

The job isn't always easy—some of our kids face real challenges and may test your patience, your creativity, and your commitment. But if you stick with it, the impact you’ll have (and the relationships you’ll build) are more than worth it.

WINGS Leader Key Responsibilities

Show Up and Make a Difference Report to your assigned school site Monday–Friday from approximately 1:30–6:30 PM, following the full academic year calendar—building consistency and reliability, key skills in any profession.
Bring the WINGS Way to Life Apply our proven best practices throughout the day. Don’t worry—we provide comprehensive training and coaching to help you grow as a leader and educator.
Build Meaningful Connections Form strong, positive relationships with students in your small group (no more than a 1:15 ratio). Learn to lead with empathy, communication, and trust—skills that serve you in any career path.
Facilitate Engaging, SEL-Focused Activities Use WINGS’ kid-friendly language and interactive lessons to develop students’ social-emotional skills while also strengthening your emotional intelligence and classroom. management.
Support Academic Growth Help students complete homework and stay motivated with our built-in academic resources. You’ll practice skills like tutoring, mentoring, and individualized support—great for those exploring education, psychology, or social work.
