Advanced store work in a warehouse, ordering, stocking, and charging-out of inventory items. Work is performed under general supervision.
Essential Job Duties
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Perform inventory-related duties such as stock level analysis, re-stock tracing, cycle count, regular inventory audits. Assist with full physical inventory as assigned
- Access, input and retrieve information from the computer. Prepare reports as requested.
- Identify and report discrepancies between physical counts and computer records.
- Receive items into the warehouse, check the condition and report any problems.
- Assist with packing and loading items, wrapping and preparing returns. Register returns properly including work orders, addresses and details.
- Assemble/ disassemble kits as needed.
- Issue warehouse items to users while keeping accurate record.
- Maintain warehouse interior and exterior areas in neat, orderly, and safe manner.
- Wear appropriate PPE and adhere to all safety requirements relevant to the regular job duties.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with Palm Beach County Code of Ethics.
- Foster positive employee relations and employee morale on a City-wide basis.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- At least three (3) years’ experience in store-keeping.
- Experience in a municipal and/or central warehouse preferred.
- Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, especially Excel.
Knowledge and ability to work with databases such as MS Access, SQL preferred. Demonstrated forklift proficiency preferred. Knowledge of inventory systems (receiving, stocking and distributing). Ability to work with numbers (add, subtract, multiply and divide). Ability to communicate in writing and verbal. Ability to access, input and retrieve information from the computer

Essential Physical Skills
Heavy lifting and carrying weight up to 50 pounds may be required. Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction). Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid). Must distinguish colors. Pushing, walking, standing, climbing ladders, kneeling, and bending may be required. Sometimes also driving.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, stand, climb ladders, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, equipment or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Repetitive tasks are usual in this position.
Environmental Conditions
Work inside in a warehouse environment and out-of-doors. In or around moving vehicles. The noise, temperature and dust levels in the work environment is usually over the normal standard.
