Vice President of Operations

We are seeking an analytical and collaborative Operations VP with 10+ years of experience managing global operations across the USA, Mexico, Canada, and China. This role involves overseeing Operations, Purchasing, Global Supply Chain, Logistics, Distribution Centre activities, and Order Processing for B2C retail client.
Must-Have Skills:
- Manage complex supply chains, with hands-on experience in logistics and distribution.
- Lead change management and process improvements.
- Distribution Center experience, with experience working internal DC's (main) and 3PL (secondary).
- Capacity planning and ERP implementation.
- Long lead-time supply chains, such as importing goods from China.
- Oversee organization development & infrastructure projects, including warehouse management system upgrades.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with finished import goods and products, while working with multiple vendors.
- Familiarity with Infor M3, SAP, or JD Edwards ERP systems.
- Experience with sales and operations planning tools.
- Modernizing logistics infrastructure to compete with retail and e-commerce competitors.
- Experience with managing trade compliance and capacity planning.
Responsibilities:
- Global Supply Chain and Logistics Management: Manage international logistics and supply chain activities, optimizing processes for cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- DC Operations: Oversee the distribution center operations, implementing best practices to meet customer requirements and ensure operational efficiency.
- Analyze Data / Strategic Decision Making: Pull and interpret data to make informed strategic decisions, while being hands-on with the work to understand the ground realities.
- Develop Capacity Planning Processes: Create capacity planning processes to achieve the S&OP Plan, raise purchase orders for partners, and manage supplier performance.
- Purchasing: Oversee procurement process, purchase order management, and drive supplier performance to achieve cost optimization.
- Negotiate and Manage Contracts: Negotiate contracts and oversee the performance of third-party providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable logistics.
- Order Processing and Fulfillment: Ensure orders are processed and fulfilled efficiently at the lowest cost, negotiating rates and service levels.
- Continuous Improvement: Build a culture of continuous improvement to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and provide insightful analysis for developing action plans.
- Demand Plans: Ensure the Supply team responds quickly to demand forecasts and utilizes appropriate tools to build the most cost-effective supply plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent leadership, planning, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve processes.
- Experience in managing significant contractual relationships.
- Familiarity with ERP and SC Planning systems.
