Job Title: Sr Manager / Associate Director/ Director, Project Management - Late Stage
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Program Manager to lead cross-functional project teams and manage a diverse portfolio of client accounts within our Program Management Office (PMO). This role will act as the primary point of contact for client relationships and business delivery, ensuring excellence in project execution, team leadership, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in project management, operational leadership, and team development, with a proven ability to drive process improvement and strategic alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Relationship Management
- Serve as the lead relationship manager for high-profile, strategic clients and government-sponsored programs.
- Manage client portfolios, ensuring consistent delivery and high satisfaction across all active projects.
- Actively build, maintain, and strengthen client relationships, addressing concerns and providing solutions with diplomacy and professionalism.
- Oversee full project lifecycle management—from award and kickoff to close-out—ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Align cross-functional teams on project goals, timelines, and quality standards, proactively resolving conflicts and roadblocks.
- Communicate project updates, scope changes, and critical risks to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Contribute to strategic PMO and client initiatives, identifying opportunities for operational enhancements.
Team & Staff Leadership
- Directly manage up to 4 team members, including leadership-level employees with their own reports.
- Provide regular feedback and mentorship to support professional development and performance growth.
- Lead strategic client discussions and Joint Steering Committee meetings with executive leadership.
- Manage financial aspects of all projects, including budget forecasting, change orders, invoicing, and vendor coordination.
- Collaborate with Business Development on proposal development and client onboarding as needed.
- Drive cross-site project portfolio leadership or own key PMO processes, including change management and training.
- Lead local implementation of PMO best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Set and manage team performance objectives (e.g., Balanced Scorecard goals).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in a science-related field); advanced degree or MBA preferred.
- PMP certification (active or in progress).
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience, with at least 5 years in project management.
- Strong understanding of GMP and regulatory compliance requirements for biologics projects.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal); proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and conflict-resolution skills.
