Job Description
Reporting to our VP, Global Supply Chain, the Director of Logistics, plays a pivotal role in shaping our logistics strategy on a global scale. You will oversee and optimize logistics operations across North America, APAC, and Europe, while ensuring compliance with trade regulations and managing reverse logistics processes. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the logistics landscape in the consumer electronics and Automotive Industry, as well as strong leadership capabilities to drive cross-functional collaboration and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global logistics strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives, focusing on cost efficiency, service excellence, and compliance.
- Continuously assess market trends, legislation changes, and technological advancements to enhance logistics operations.
Trade Compliance
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements across all regions, effectively mitigating risks associated with trade compliance.
- Lead the development and implementation of processes and training to ensure all logistics teams adhere to trade regulations.
Logistics Operations Management
- Oversee logistics operations for North America, APAC, and Europe, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products to customers.
- Optimize transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes to improve service levels and reduce operational costs.
Reverse Logistics
- Develop and manage reverse logistics strategies to handle product returns, repairs, and recycling in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance customer satisfaction through efficient returns processing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with supply chain, procurement, sales, and customer service teams to align logistics operations with overall business objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics-related issues and initiatives, fostering effective communication across departments.
Team Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing logistics team, providing mentorship and support to enhance professional development and operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the logistics team.
Performance Measurement
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics operations, making data-driven decisions to drive improvements.
- Report on logistics performance to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations for strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in logistics management, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role within the consumer electronics industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of trade compliance regulations and practices in key global markets.
- Proven track record of managing logistics operations across multiple regions (North America, APAC, Europe).
- Strong expertise in reverse logistics and sustainability practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in logistics management software and tools; familiarity with data analytics and reporting.
