Position Overview:
Our customer, a leading reverse logistics and aftermarket services provider in the IT Hardware industry are looking to bring onboard a Director of Operations, who will lead and enhance core operational functions, including strategic planning, resource management, process optimization, and cross-functional project execution. This leadership role is responsible for fostering high-performing teams, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring delivery excellence across business programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership & Team Development:
- Build and lead a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to operations and production teams across key programs.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Drive initiatives aimed at improving cost efficiency, resource utilization, and service delivery.
- Oversee the development and implementation of scalable processes and tools to support long-term operational goals.
Process Optimization & Data Analysis:
- Lead time and motion studies to establish productivity benchmarks and inform workforce planning.
- Leverage data-driven insights to support decision-making around cost control and operational enhancements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a central point of contact between operations, technology, finance, and facilities teams to align business goals with execution plans.
- Coordinate and manage layout planning and infrastructure adjustments to accommodate new or evolving programs.
Program & Project Oversight:
- Manage complex, multi-phase initiatives across various departments, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
- Define and monitor KPIs, ensuring alignment with program objectives and organizational standards.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to support program success.
- Ensure customer expectations are met through proactive communication and effective service management.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Champion automation and systems integration to enhance operational performance.
- Promote a culture of excellence through ongoing evaluation and improvement of processes.
Additional Duties:
- Support troubleshooting and implementation of system changes related to operations workflows.
- Contribute to documentation and change management efforts that support operational continuity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in operations leadership roles, with a strong track record of success in dynamic and service-driven environments.
- Experience in electronics, technology, or manufacturing sectors is required.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma) and lean methodologies preferred.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver complex projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with strengths in communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
