Summary:
Overall responsibility for facilitating Agile practices and ensuring the successful delivery of technology solutions using the Scrum framework. Provides leadership and guidance to one or more Agile teams, cultivating a collaborative environment that emphasizes continuous improvement, transparency, and high performance. Leads and facilitates all core Scrum ceremonies while protecting the team from scope changes and external disruptions. Proactively identifies and removes impediments, supports the Project Team in effective backlog management, and ensures clear visibility into team performance and progress using Agile tracking tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Scrum Master for Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Agile principles and Scrum framework
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
- Support the Project Team in backlog grooming, prioritization, and story refinement
- Ensure alignment between sprint progress and release planning
- Track and report on sprint metrics including velocity, burndown, and team capacity using Azure DevOps
- Promote Agile best practices and coach team members on Agile values and principles
- Identify and remove impediments to team progress, escalating when necessary
- Serve as a liaison between the project team and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment
- Provide recommendations based on team performance and project needs at Agile team meetings and sponsor reviews
- Support transition to Production Support and project closeout activities
- Ensure risks, issues, and scope changes are identified, communicated, and managed using standard procedures
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage dependencies and ensure alignment across projects
- Maintain high standards of project documentation and deliverables
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in Agile Coaching roles in software development environments
- Scrum Master certification
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and servant leadership principles
- Experience with Azure DevOps or similar Agile project management tools
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in MS Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint
- Proven experience working with two or more teams simultaneously
Bonus Skills
- Experience with System Modernization, Legacy Replacement, or System Consolidation projects
- Knowledge of Water or flood irrigation systems
- Experience with third-party system integrations
- Exposure to scaled Agile frameworks
- Guide the team in applying TDSP within an Agile framework to ensure structured, repeatable, and collaborative data science practices
- Knowledge of project management tools and technique
