StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking a Part-Time, Research Psychologist, Journeyman in Orlando FL, to assist in the research on human cognition and performance as a means to modernize the delivery of education and training.
Essential Job Duties
NAWCTSD is the Navys principal center for modeling, simulation and training systems technologies.The Research Psychologist, Journeyman will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Application of psychological principles and theories for the improvement of training, education, and human performance.
- Planning, development, and execution of systematic research in the areas of human performance, cognition, human factors, training, and education.
- Collection and analysis of human performance and cognition data.
- Development research reports of findings for professional distribution (e.g., professional journal or conference publication).

Experience Requirements
- Candidate must have approximately 3 or more years of experience with human cognition research and performance studies.
- Experience conducting independent psychology research (e.g., 2+ years of directed research and/or independent research at the masters or post-baccalaureate level).
- Experience with executing psychology research protocols (e.g., 2+ years of experience as a research assistant in a research laboratory).
- Experience writing and/or presenting scientific research (e.g., three or more conference presentations, papers, and/or other published research)
- Experience with varied data analysis techniques (e.g., ANOVA, Regression, Correlation, Chi-square tests) and software (e.g., IBM SPSS Statistics and/or R).
- Good communication skills with young adults/undergraduate students and experience with conflict resolution (e.g., 2+ years experience as a teaching assistant, instructor, and/or resident assistant)
- Industrial/Organizational Psychology
- Experience conducting research to include preparation of experimental protocols through running the experiment, cognitive task analyses, training effectiveness evaluation, and can
- Requires basic knowledge of experimental design and research methods.
- Writing papers in APA format.
- Experience with the IRB process.
- Ability to communicate verbally with clarity and correct grammar and mechanics.
- Desired: Possess knowledge or at least familiarity of training systems, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, and DOD/DON/NAVAIR policies, directives, and instructions and documents to assignments.
Education Requirements
- Ph.D. or Masters degree in Psychology.

- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
