Vice President of Operations – Consumer Goods
Our client, a company in the consumer products industry is seeking an experienced Vice President of Operations to join their leadership team. This on-site role is based in New Jersey and offers the opportunity to lead and shape operations for the brand.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic, hands-on leader with a strong background in supply chain, logistics, customer service, IT systems, and vendor management. This position reports directly to the President and plays a key role in cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, and driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead, mentor, and develop Operations teams across supply chain, IT, customer service, indirect purchasing, and company-owned facilities.
- Define and implement operational strategies focused on continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Build and expand the inventory and logistics functions, including hiring and onboarding new team members.
- Manage third-party logistics (3PL) relationships, ensuring performance against KPIs.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and align company-wide goals and strategies.
- Oversee the sourcing and development of new manufacturing partners to maintain a strong vendor base.
- Lead cross-functional operational projects (e.g., ERP implementation, facilities upgrades).
- Maintain working knowledge of end-to-end operations and industry best practices.
- Drive company-wide process improvement initiatives and ensure SOPs and KPIs are defined and achieved.
- Provide regular performance and project updates to executive leadership.
- Uphold the highest standards in customer service and product quality.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of senior operations leadership experience in the consumer goods industry.
- Proven track record of strategic planning and operational process improvement.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building abilities.
- Experience overseeing logistics, inventory management, customer service, and IT systems.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
Additional Information:
- Competitive base salary $150,000-190,000
