Summary
The Senior Director, Warehouse and Inventory will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution across the company’s network. This role ensures that inventory levels meet customer demand while optimizing storage, labor, and logistics costs. The Senior Director, Warehouse and Inventory will develop and implement best-in-class processes, systems, and teams to drive efficiency, accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.
The Senior Director, Warehouse and Inventory must also possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate must possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address issues. The Senior Director, Warehouse and Inventory position reports to the Executive Vice President of Operations with responsibility to serve as a results-driven leader who is committed to achieving business objectives and driving continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Description
- Execute the strategic vision for warehouse operations and inventory management aligned with overall company goals.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse, distribution, and inventory teams to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Provide hands-on leadership by spending significant time on the warehouse floor to understand daily operations, build trust, and support frontline teams.
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, returns, and inventory control.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for productivity, accuracy, safety, and cost efficiency.
- Implement and maintain robust inventory management systems and processes to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Partner with procurement, production, fulfillment, and sales teams to forecast demand, manage stock levels, and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across the warehouse.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including layout optimization, automation, and technology adoption.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, cost controls, and capital expenditures related to warehouse operations.
- Serve as a key point of contact for senior leadership regarding warehouse performance and inventory health.
- Provide support for overall Quality Operations with a particular focus on compliance, safety, and continuous improvement
Key Qualifications
- 8 or more years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, distribution, and inventory management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Formalized OSHA General Industry 10 or 30 training, strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms.
- Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements and driving operational excellence
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable strategies
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
- Knowledge of relevant safety and compliance standards (e.g., OSHA)
- English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills, highly preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related operations software
Physical Requirements
- The employee is exposed to a Warehouse that is not temperature regulated
- Exposure to high levels of noise
- Must be able to occasionally lift, pull, push and move up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to walk approximately 10k-15k steps per day
- Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods
- Must be able to climb stairs
Pay & Benefits
- Pay range: $175,000-$190,000
