About The Role
Turn/River is seeking a Data Scientist to bridge the gap between financial data and strategic decision-making. This role will drive the development of financial dashboards, data models, and analytical frameworks that empower the Turn/River operations team and executive teams at the portfolio companies with actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Data & Reporting: Own the financial data and reporting infrastructure for a set of portfolio companies to enable us to gauge business health and identify opportunities/risks.
- Analysis & Modeling: Collaborate custom reporting, analysis and predictive models with our Head of Portfolio Company Finance to understand business financial opportunities/risks.
- IP Development: Work with the Operations team to build new intellectual property to support future investments.
- Portfolio Analysis: Conduct portfolio-level analysis for cost benchmarking, reporting to identify rationalization opportunities.
This is a highly collaborative role within Turn/River, where you will be working closely with other operations leads across GTM, R&D, RevOps, FP&A, and Accounting to ensure strong cohesion. This role will also partner with the Investment team to execute due diligence on potential investments/acquisitions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a data analyst, data scientist, or another analytical role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- 2+ years of experience building and maintaining Tableau dashboards
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with ETL tools
- Experience with Git
- B.A/B.S in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, or business analytics
- Very data-driven, analytical, intellectually curious, and numerically inclined
- Strong project management, organizational, process management, and communication skills
- Experience conducting interviews or engaging with stakeholders to gather business insights and translate them into structured data inputs and analytical frameworks
- Experience with Google Cloud products preferred
Location
- San Francisco, hybrid work model
Compensation
- The annual base salary range for this role is $155,000 - 175,000 (plus annual bonus) taking into account numerous variable factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational requirements.
