Warehouse & Logistics Manager
Swift Air Mechanical specializes in Commercial and Residential HVAC Services and is located on the Northeast side of Indianapolis, Indiana. We are searching for a Warehouse & Logistics Manager to join our team!
The Warehouse & Logistics Manager trains, supervises, and evaluates all personnel directly associated with warehouse operations. This includes warehouse associates and drivers, as well as support staff from other departments when needed. The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is responsible for all functions of the overall inside operations of multiple business units. This includes, but is not limited to, materials management, picking and receiving, inventory and cycle counts, materials staging, as well as loading and unloading of trucks. Additional responsibilities include tool & equipment management, fleet of vehicles, maintaining a delivery and pick-up schedule, maintaining a clean and safe warehouse as well assist as needed the housekeeping of the entire physical facilities. Responsibilities are performed with independent judgment yet with direction from the General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all personnel assigned to the warehouse.
- Execute and supervise all functions associated with materials management, following strict procedures to ensure every piece of equipment/material received is correct. QTY, size, etc. This includes picking and staging correct materials, and loading / delivering correct materials.
- Ensure proper tools and equipment are staged and/or delivered for field crews.
- Ensure tools and equipment are checked in and out per company procedures.
- Maintain all tools and equipment in their proper working order, inspect and conduct or schedule preventive maintenance as needed.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by working to ensure that security procedures and protocols are followed.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts, reconciling with data storage system.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse.
- Assist General Manager with interviewing and hiring of staff.
- Primary contact between warehouse and field operations to ensure materials, tools and equipment are ready and available for the team.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse operations including material handling and inventory control methods
- Knowledge and experience in HVAC, and Electrical parts is desired
- Ability to operate warehouse machinery, including forklift and pallet jack
- Desire and ability to effectively supervise people & remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to utilize tool tracking system and other company software
- Ability to be proactive and execute keen strategic thinking and planning
- Actively be detail-oriented and organized
- Time and prioritization management
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that include writing, speaking and active listening
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Dependable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Must have the ability to be insured by company
- Ability to obtain Medical DOT card
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs for up to 50 ft
- Ability to hear and see well
- Ability to work in hot and dusty environments
- Ability to stand and walk for extended amounts of time
- Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
- Ability to climb ladders and steps
Position Type / Hours:
- This is a salaried position, schedule 6:30am – 3:30pm Mon – Fri
- Occasional extended hours including nights or weekends if needed
