About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and support our growing operations in the Southern California region. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact electrical infrastructure projects across railroads, airports, ports, and highways. In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:Project Leadership & Execution
Ensure consistent adherence to safety practices and promote our Incident and Injury-Free (IIF) culture.
Visit job sites regularly, lead by example, and ensure safety plans are created and enforced.
Oversee change order processes, billing accuracy, and financial reporting.
Address critical project issues and escalate to senior leadership as needed.
Team Development & Mentorship
Lead and develop a high-performing project team.
Manage, coach, and hold accountable Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers.
Build succession plans and foster internal growth opportunities.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with general contractors, owners, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with field leadership and integrate them into key project processes.
Project Planning & Financial Oversight
Facilitate detailed project planning to ensure all contractual requirements are met.
Assign and clarify roles and responsibilities within the project team.
Develop and manage accurate budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans.
Leverage lessons learned from past projects to proactively mitigate risks.
Process & Performance Management
Ensure company tools and systems (Agile, Primavera, Bluebeam, etc.) are effectively utilized.
Monitor and improve reporting, billing, and project performance metrics.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and champion best practices across teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Equivalent union trade or construction experience will also be considered.
Minimum 10 years of relevant project management experience.
Preferred: Experience in airport or transportation infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural plans and their impact on cost and scheduling.
Proficient in estimating, scheduling, budgeting, field supervision, financial reporting, and client relations.
Technically proficient in Google Workspace, Primavera P6, Contract Management software, and Bluebeam.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor, develop, and inspire team members.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Willingness to travel as required by project needs.
