Position Overview
HDR is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Building Engineering Services Business Group in Chicago, IL. Our team offers integrated facility and infrastructure design services, including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, and Site Civil Engineering. While we serve various markets, this role focuses on Tech/Media/Telecom, Data Centers, and Mission Critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams throughout project lifecycle
- Manage large, complex projects involving extensive staff and technical requirements
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and timeliness
- Develop and maintain client relationships, participate in marketing and project planning
- Conduct work sessions and coordinate deliverables
- Manage staffing, workload, and project financials within budget and schedule
- Implement QA/QC procedures and supervise project staff, mentoring less experienced managers
- Perform additional duties as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional license/certification (e.g., PE, PMP)
- Experience with Primavera P3, SureTrak, Prolog software
- Leadership and mentorship skills
- Experience with healthcare, laboratory, or mission-critical data center projects
- Local candidates preferred
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- At least 10 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years in project management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling, and project management software
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
