Mirror Palais is a womenswear pre order brand founded in 2019 by Marcelo Gaia. After working for almost a decade as a stylist, Gaia decided to create his own label - with the mission to celebrate the confident women who inspire him.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Freelance Senior Designer role located in New York, NY. The Senior Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating innovative designs, collaborating with the creative team, and ensuring all designs meet brand standards. Additional responsibilities include staying updated with industry trends, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and presenting design proposals.
Responsibilities
-Create and sketch designs based on line-plan and assigned price points and incorporate feedback for finalization
-Prepare conceptual collection presentations based on the inspiration and mood boards with line assortment recommendations and new concepts for styles, embroideries and prints.
-Create embroidery and artwork templates for collections and launch with factories
-Create prints and print placements instructions and/or layouts for collections and launch with factories
-Create and manage tech packs including detailed sketches, some garment construction, fabric, etc.
-Create mock ups/drapes for presentation and assist in fittings
-Render/Color sketches for presentations and line sheets
-Assist in creating customs for celebrity clientele
-Work with cross functional partners to meet all calendar deadlines and milestones.
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5-7 years of Fashion Design experience
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent required
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Excel and Word needed
• Hand sketching/Rendering and Illustrator
• Excellent verbal and written communicator
• Respectful and responsible team player
• Detail orientated
• Strong on-brand point of view
• Strong time management skills
