About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Warehouse Operations – West to lead our warehouse operations across the western U.S. region. This role will have full ownership of all aspects of warehousing, including storage, receiving, shipping, inventory control, and third-party logistics (3PL) oversight. You will play a critical role in optimizing our warehouse network, enforcing safety and compliance standards, and driving operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all West zone warehouses, including raw material and finished goods handling.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to internal teams and external 3PL partners.
- Implement standardized processes and align best practices across West and East zones.
- Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal warehousing and safety regulations.
- Lead space utilization planning, layout optimization, equipment maintenance, and capital projects.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through physical counts, audits, and WMS optimization.
- Manage and develop warehouse and inventory control teams, ensuring proper training and performance.
- Oversee loading and shipment operations to ensure correct quantities, destinations, and timing.
- Enforce FIFO and FEFO inventory practices across all locations.
- Maintain audit-readiness for food safety and operational compliance.
- Promote and lead continuous improvement events, such as Kaizens, to improve warehouse performance.
- Build and enhance dashboards and KPIs for warehouse analytics and reporting using tools like Power BI.
- Support the company’s emergency response protocols and food safety programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of progressive warehouse and logistics leadership experience.
- Proven success managing both in-house warehouse teams and 3PL providers.
- Strong background in WMS systems and operational best practices.
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience facilitating process improvement events.
- Analytical and tech-savvy; skilled in data analysis and KPI reporting, preferably in Power BI.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience managing budgets, warehouse expansions, and multiple warehouse sites.
Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities:
- Ensure product quality and food safety by promptly reporting issues and adhering to all handling procedures.
- Identify and correct nonconformities related to safety, processes, or quality systems.
- Comply with all customer, company, and regulatory food safety standards.
