Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Transportation Supervisor to lead our Driver Department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment and is ready to take ownership of driver scheduling, DOT compliance, and cross-department collaboration. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily driver schedules and coordinate PTO
- Act as primary contact for after-hours driver/warehouse issues (on-call 24/7)
- Provide backup support for dispatchers, office clerks, and delivery drivers when needed
- Monitor driver performance and enforce safety and policy compliance
- Move trucks within yard and occasionally make deliveries
- Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to meet customer expectations
- Conduct interviews, manage driver onboarding, and handle disciplinary actions
- Track and manage driver activity through fleet monitoring systems (e.g., Samsara)
- Provide daily/weekly reports to management
Requirements:
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in transportation/logistics
- 5+ years of shipping/fleet management experience
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and interstate systems (FL, GA, NC, etc.)
- Excellent communication, planning, and leadership skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse setting
